Update to the Yokel
by rayfigs on Feb.10, 2010, under My Games
As you may have seen before, I had did a model a while back called the yokel. It was a head and it was done for a modeling challenge I hosted some time ago for students at Full Sail. I liked the model a lot and wanted to make a deformable version so that I can do some facial tests and maybe a go with face robot, with an exaggerated face. Since I’m working on a new reel I decided to do a body too, this is what I have so far.

The entire model was modeled in XSI with slight “help” with some zbrush here and there.
Dotz:Advanced
by rayfigs on Aug.21, 2009, under My Iphone Games
Dotz: Advanced is a modified version of a simple pen and paper game called Dots. Dots is a simple game where players alternate turns filling lines between dots to complete squares. The player to add the final line to complete the square gets a point, player with the most amount of points wins.
Here is simple game play of Dotz
Dotz:Advanced takes this concept and adds power-ups to drastically add a game chance and an added level of strategy to this classic game. With the full version of Dotz:Advanced you have access to the classic mode ( no Power ups) as well as the enhanced version. All versions of Dotz:Advanced allow the same core functionality:
- Power ups
- Play comfortably in either portrait or Landscape mode

- Build custom boards; choose the number of rows or columns you want for your game

Rules
Players take turns placing lines between pairs of dots
Lines are drawn by placing your finger between the two dots you would like your line to appear between.
Your objective is to complete a square, each square is worth one point and an extra turn.
Player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Note: Only the color of the square matters, the color of the lines are only to keep track of who went where
When playing with Power ups enabled, you add an extra level of chaos to the classic Dots game play. Powerup start may help you or your oppenant, by adding extra points or altering the lines or squares already placed on the board. Make your moves carfully, power ups can make or break the outcome of the game!
Power Ups

When Powerups are enabled you will notice tgat certain squares will have power up stars randomly applied to them. Power ups add a refeshing level of chance to the classic dots game. In total there are 7 random power ups that a power up start can reveal:
- Convert- Converts all of the adjacent squares to be claimed by your opponent. If power up squares are in the conversion path the power up will activate causing all sorts of mayham! Convert affects a 9 square radius in a 3×3 pattern.
- Invert- Invert will switch the ownership of the adjacent squares. Blank squares will remain blank. Invert affects a 9 square radius in a 3×3 pattern
- Multiplier- will multiply the points you earn by either 2x 3x 5x
- Negative Multiplier- will subtract points from your score by either 2x 3x 5x
- Simple bomb- releases a small explosion where it erases lines and boxes in a small cross pattern. One block up, down, left and right.
- Charged bomb- releases a medium sized explosion where it erases both lines and boxes in a cross pattern. Two blocks up, down, left and right.
- Nuke- releases a large explosion that affects a 9 square radius in a 3×3 pattern. The Nuke will erease both lines and squares within it’s grasp. Only 8 blocks get erased, the epicenter of the blast will remain in tact.
Wifi Options
When selectiong Wifi mode, players need to choose who will host the game and who will join a hosted game.
Host Game: Player hosting the game will pick all of the game options and select the peer to connect to.
Find Host: If you choose “Find Host” simply select ” Start Game” and wait till the Host starts the game. ( Your screen will be blank untill the game starts)
When playing a Wifi game there may be circumstances when a peert might disconnect accidently from a game. If this is ever the case you will see the “Peer disconnected” pop-up.
Multiplayer will allow you to continue the game on one device.
Reconnect will reconnect the peer but the level will start over.

Utopull was the first game I worked on:) It was a fabulous experiance I had with a team of 5 people (including myself). The game was for the Global Game Challenge 2009, where contestents have 48 hours to make a game following a theme GlobalGameJam.org . We ended up makeing Utopull, a fun game where users have to direct a stream of magnitized particles to a goal using attactors and dectractors. Everyone worked hard and it sparked a new love of game making in me
You can get the game free here Utopull
